If you haven't stopped by the Simple Scrapbooks website lately, I highly recommend that you do. Cheryl is burning up the gallery with her fantastic layout designs and she is working on a lot of great projects that will be featured in future issues of the magazine. This page is a challenge layout from the SS Blog. She so deserves to be a "Simple Gal". No one does it better.

This is a layout Jen created a few months ago, using some of her stash. All I can say about this page is... I wish I could make my old (and new) stuff look this good. As I was browsing through some pages from Sam, I came across this layout. I can NOT believe I have not shared it before. Sam did this at the end of last year when she was waiting to hear from the adoption agency. The foster mother provided her with photos of Isabel on a regular basis so that Sam could see how she was growing. As a mother, I am sure that Sam really appreciated this and as a scrapbooker, it goes without saying that she couldn't wait to get some of these photos scrapped! Isn't she absolutely the cutest thing? I love how soft and delicate this page is. It works perfectly with the photo.

Did you know that Dianne and Libby have been competing in the Amazing Race digiscrapping contest? They have completed 6 challenges so far and they have a few more to go before being entered into a drawing for the championship. This particular layout required them to talk about how times have changed since we were kids (or something to that effect). Dianne decided to use the cell phone as her inspiration. And.oh.my.gosh. The pinkness that has been portrayed here was enough to give me heart palapatations. I am a HUGE fan of pink (if you didn't know) so there was no way I wasn't going to love this layout. I think that the only thing I like better than the color is the expression on Annie's face, as Dianne photographed her. I think this page portrays her personality perfectly.

Like most of us, Libby has never been much of a multiple photo scrapper. The fact is, the majority of our pictures are too big to use more than 2 or 3 on a page. However, the switch to digital has enabled her to make more pages using several photographs because size is no longer an issue. This particular page started out as her year in review page and ended up turning into something completely different. I love that she got 2 awesome layouts from her efforts. This page makes me think that all of those silly pictures that annoy me when trying to photograph my children together. I am starting to believe that they may not be such a waste after all. We should embrace them for what they are and try to make the best of them because in the long run, does it really matter if they all smile at the same time? Sometimes it's fun to capture who they really are because as they grow up, we tend to forget. Hope you enjoyed this page as much as I did. Have a great day!

Believe it or not, here is a page from Leslie and I LOVE it. Probably because I can not get over how pretty that paper is. I'm not sure who makes it but I will find out.
Leslie decided to use the lyrics from one of her favorite songs as her inspiration for this page about her son, Zach. Although this isn't a new technique, I still think it's a great way to express your feelings. It's amazing how many songs I hear and think how they relate to me or that I can relate to an event. I think this is a powerful addition to a page and often says things that we are unable to put into our own words. Pairing them up with a simple linear design and some fabu paper is definitely a win-win combination.

When I saw this layout, I was so impressed with the paper Karen chose. I honestly looked at it and started thinking about corn on the cob. Furthermore, I am trying to figure out why Kenadie is already loving corn on the cob while I continue to convince all 3 of my kids that it is a good thing. Go figure.

If you have never read Cheryl's blog, I highly recommend you take some time to check it out. She is one of the funniest people I know. Furthermore, she is one of the few people I know who can invoke humor into the untimely demise of a caterpillar, without appearing insensitive or crude. This layout is the pefect example. She originally posted this story on her blog and used it for her journaling. This layout was inspired by a page from Candice Palmer which is further proof that you don't have to reinvent the wheel to create something fabulous. Go with what works!

I can't help but admire Jen's ability to work flowers into her boy pages. I love that this page has a feminine touch but uses masculine colors to keep it from feeling "girly". Now I need to go find some dandelions and take some pictures of my boys. :)

I can't believe that I forgot to post about the newest member of the Classic Scrapper family. Actually, she is not a scrapper quite yet, but hopefully one day. :) Awhile back, I mentioned that Sam was in the process of adopting a baby from Guatemala. Just before Christmas, Isabel came to the United States to live with her new family. Although Sam hasn't had much time to scrap with the adjustment of a new baby in the house, she managed to squeak out a few pages. I imagine we will see many many more in the future. This is our first peek at sweet Isabel. She obviously was well cared for, wasn't she? Can you think of a better Christmas gift? Congratulations, Sam!
