So, my neighbor (and fellow princess) Jackie just e-mailed me because she is waiting for her DNU (that is Continental Airlines lingo for Daily News Update). She works for Continental, also. She is a flight attendant. She works one weekend a month and flies to Hawaii. Don't you wish you got paid to do that? In any case, she has come to love my blog, particularly my entry about the bottle of Tequila. I think she liked it mostly because she knows me and Lance so well that she totally understood it. And the part about how the flight attendants know all of the good places to shop. Unfortunately, now that I have an actual "fan", this has put me under a great deal of pressure to write something witty, entertaining and thought provoking on a regular basis. Well, let's be realistic, I have yet to write anything thought provoking but now I am starting to worry that I will fail at being witty and entertaining, as well. I will do my best, though. :)
So here we go... I am not sure if you are a scrapbooker or not. But if you are, this is a story you will truly appreciate. If it isn't, I am sure you can still relate to the horror that I experienced when I received this box.
Rewind back to last week. I received a request from Paper Crafts to do a project for the December issue. The deadline was tight and they wanted me to use a particular product that was just released at CHA. They were going to have the manufacturer send the product to me ASAP so I could get started.
Imagine my surprise the next day when I came home to find a box from KI Memories that was 14" square and 10" tall. That is HUGE box. Really, anything over 6 inches makes for an impressive package, wouldn't you agree? At least this is what I have been told. But I digress. So, when I saw this box, my heart nearly stopped. KI Memories is my single favorite product manfuacturer and to receive a box directly from them was like a dream come true. I quickly brought it into my study, I carefully opened it and I braced myself for the joy I was about to experience. Do you know what was inside of that box? 6 sheets of paper. 6 ------- sheets of paper. (you can fill in the blanks). They sent me exactly the amount of product requested for the project and nothing else. Personally, I can't blame them for this because why should they send me more if they don't have to. But they have to be aware that I have single handedly helped to sustain their business over the last few years and the least they could have done is thrown in a few oversized monograms, or some ice candy, or something. But 6 sheets of paper? That is the equivalent of cruel and unusual punishment. What did I ever do to them? I would like to note that the paper is DARN cute and I will be buying more, and I assume that when the rest of you see it, you will too. I still have lots of love for KI Memories, I just think they just reconsider the size of the boxes. LOL.
In any case, I did complete my project and it came out really cute. It is on its way to Paper Crafts right now. If you want to know what it is, you are gonna have to buy the issue in December. :)
Other than that... not a lot going on here. I went to visit Satan John yesterday for another installment of "how can we torture, Jennifer". He said he was going to take it easy on my legs because I needed to use the elliptical machine and he didn't want me making any excuses. (you would think he was my husband). Of course, my upper body paid the price. Honestly, I was concerned that I might not even be able to type today because of the intense agony my arms, shoulders and back are feeling. Fortunately, I can still type after all. Let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Of couse, I go back tomorrow and I have no idea what he has in store for me. All I know is that I REALLY want to go to Dairy Queen right now and it is taking every ounce of will power I have not to do it. I'll survive.
Lance is napping and I am just catching up on a week's worth of e-mail that has been sitting in my inbox. I have been waiting to update my blog with something interesting but unfortunately, this is as interesting as my life gets. Sad, huh?
Well, I hope you enjoyed another issue of the DNU. I keep thinking I will get some Sea World pictures posted but that isn't going too well. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. But you know me... maybe not. Have a good one. :)
