Thankfully it isn't me! Today is Lance's birthday. Unfortunately, he had to work a red-eye last night and he is spending his big day at a Newark Airport hotel. I guess once you reach 38, it doesn't really matter all that much, but we are disappointed that we don't get to spend the day with him. However, the boys and I did bake a cake for him yesterday and we went with his parents to have dinner. It doesn't get much more exciting than that, does it?
I hate to admit that I am a little happy that he is at work now. He only works 3 days/week which means he is home a lot. While I enjoy having him around, I hate that I never seem to get anything done. We always have an errand to run or a project to work on. So today is "send the boys outside to play while I catch up on email, blogs and online shopping" day. He comes home tomorrow and we will get back to school, baseball, working on the floor and getting things ready for my mom's visit on Thursday. It's always something
And in case you are wondering, Jordan's team won their game on Thursday. The team they beat was undefeated which puts us 1/2 game out of first place. We have four games left so it will be interesting to see how everything plays out. But so far, it has been exciting. Joe's team did not win... again. I am not too sad about missing that game but Joe did get the game ball. He hid it in a bag and pretended that it was candy. It was cute to see him so excited. I have to admit I was a little disappointed when I realized there was no candy in the bag but I guess the ball was probably a better surprise.
Well, I guess I am going to enjoy my last few minutes of quiet before the boys get back from their walk with Grandpa. Hope you are having a nice weekend.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LANCE!!!!!
