After a strong 3rd place finish in Katy two weeks ago, the Bulldogs managed to maintain that momentum for the Baseball USA Charity Toy Classic on December 6. They came out ready to play and they were unstoppable! They beat the Texas Royals 18-4 followed by a victory over the Houston Royals with a final score of 13-1. While this event was for charity and there were no awards for their performance, there were bragging rights. The Bulldogs finished with the most runs scored and the second least runs allowed out of 18 teams. They also had the opportunity to play for a good cause... Each player donated a toy to charity as part of their admission to the tournament.
In the first game, Diego Arcay of the Royals (and a former Bulldog) hit a two run homer in the first inning accounting for 2 of their 4 runs. In the second inning, Cade Walker countered with a three run homer over the same 210' fence. This was Cade's first home run and the second for the Bulldogs this season. Way to go Cade!!!
The Bulldogs have one tournament left for the fall season and they are hoping for a strong finish. Let's go Bulldogs!
