If you come home with a trophy on Father's Day two years in ago, is it considered a team tradition? We like to think so... and hopefully it will continue on for years to come!
The Bulldogs came out on Sunday as the number three seed and they had to beat the Texas Aces to move on to the Championship game. That is just what they did! They walked away from the first game with a 6-0 victory thanks to solid hitting and a great performance by Joey Burgess on the mound. He allowed one hit, struck out 9 batters and finished the 5 inning game with a shut out!
The second game did not go so well. The Bulldogs already sat through two hours of rain delays waiting for their game to start. Once it finally did begin, it was delayed again with more rain. At the end of the day, the Bulldogs struggled to regain their momentum and suffered an 8-5 loss to the Banditos. After a very long day, the boys were happy to walk home with a second place finish and another ring for their collection. And it was a great way to honor all of the awesome dads who dedicate so much time to the team and their players. Way to go Bulldogs!!!
(Another rain delay... the boys hate taking their picture but are more cooperative when given the chance to Dab)
