Congratulations to the Bulldogs for coming home with a first place victory in the USSSA Spring Showdown at Deer Park!
Due to rain, we did not get to play our pool games on Saturday so we were placed into a single elimination bracket on Sunday. That is a lot of pressure because no one wants to play just one game for the weekend. Fortunately, our boys came to play and they made it through the first game with a 5-4 win over Predators Baseball. In the second game, they came out swinging and beat the KC Oilers with a huge 13-4 margin. That victory would put them in the Championship game against TC Baseball. They proved to be a formidable opponent with solid pitching and defense. But our boys were just as good, if not a little bit better. While they kept our bats at bay and tied up the score, they couldn't stop River from hitting a walk off double to end the game 3-2. I have said it before and I'll say it again, Bulldogs never quit! And these boys did just that. They played their first game at noon and finished their last game at 11:00 p.m. At the end of the day, they got to take home the gold ring... and they earned it! We expect great things from the Bulldogs this season. Stay tuned...
