With only 4 undefeated teams left, we knew Saturday was going to be a challenge. We had to face No Fear Red in the first game of the day. The Bulldogs made a solid effort and played a full 6 inning game but the bats struggled. They lost 7-0 and were bumped down into the losers bracket.
In the second game, they faced the Piranhas White. The bats came alive and they won 12-5 with Andrew pitching all 5 innings.
After beating the Piranhas, the Bulldogs played their third game of the day vs. the #1 Seed Louisiana Lightning. The Lightning proved to be a formidable competitor and they challenged us with another 6 inning game. Despite their best efforts, The Bulldogs fell to the Lightning 6-5.
Losing is always disappointing but the Bulldogs finished the tournament with a 5-3 record and a fourth place finish out of 20 teams.
Of course, no one was ready to go home quite yet, so the team went out for one last celebration. A huge shout out goes to Casa Tapatia for welcoming our party of 40. Most restaurants do not want anything to do with a party that large with no notice, but they were great!
